Blonde D Aquitane

Why Blonde D' Aquitane

The Blonde d'Aquitaine breed originated in the Garonne valley and the Pyrenees mountains area in the Aquitaine district of France. Blondes short smooth hair is usually wheat coloured, but can range from almost white to brown. They are known for their lean muscling, high growth rate, docility and calving ease due to a high tail setting, large pelvic area and light bone.

The Blonde d'Aquitaine breed has been established in the UK for 30 years and continues to gain much respect from commercial farmers be they suckler producers or dairy men.

The breeds principal attributes are ease of calving and excellent growth rates, terminating in a carcase with a very high killing out percentage and an exceptionally high ratio of lean meat to bone. These claims have been substantiated in an ADAS review of all the recorded data world-wide over the past 10 years.

The breed is widely distributed throughout the UK and Northern Ireland and thrives well in both the harsher climes of the north and the sunnier south.
